In 2018, the artist Lúa Gándara came to live at Pazo Meiji for a few months, but in the end, this few months turned into a year and a half. During that time we did many things.
Firstable, an open studio called Lúa Gándara vs. María Meijide opened to the public on May 5th, 2018, and the event became a a sort of painting competition.
CASA&CONCEPTO project was born from this event.
CASA&CONCEPTO is an exhibition project of contemporary art through the catchy structure of the “pack”. A figurative painting and an abstract one, that are exhibited together creating a new original piece. Through this combination "we want to provoke visual dialogue and conciliation - say the artists - playing with the tension between the conceptual discourse and the pleasure of the senses".
Casa&concepto has been invited as a guest project at the Seoane Foundation an at the Audacia2019 festival of the Cidade da Cultura, it has also been exhibited at Culturgal 2019, at the Agrocuirfestival in A Ulloa, etc.
